Postal approved mailboxes are specific size mailboxes and in specific configurations that have been designated by the USPS for the most efficient mail delivery. They also have special size master door lock cut out for a special USPS lock.

Heavy duty aluminum construction some mailboxes are designed for outdoor use in the weather elements and other mailbox systems and designed for indoor use. Postal approved mailboxes can be accessed by the letter carrier through a master door in the front or rear of the mailbox system.
